The session will provide valuable perspectives on traditional materia medica, ethnopharmacology, and the scientific relevance of ancient healing systems in contemporary integrative healthcare.
Dr. Ploberger’s current research focuses on Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tibetan Medicine, ethnomedicine, medical translation, and the pharmacological understanding of traditional herbal systems. His interdisciplinary work bridges classical medical knowledge with modern scientific inquiry, promoting cross-cultural approaches to natural medicine and evidence-based integrative healthcare.
Florian is a licensed medical doctor, Tibetologist, and internationally respected lecturer specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tibetan Medicine. Based in Vienna, he practices as a TCM physician while actively engaging in teaching, research, translation, and academic collaboration across the world. Through his clinical expertise and scholarly contributions, he continues to advance the understanding and global appreciation of Asian traditional medical systems.
