We are pleased to welcome Dr. DANIELA SPARVOLI, researcher in molecular parasitology at the University of Montpellier, as a featured speaker at the International Virtual Conference on Advances in Toxoplasmosis Research.
Dr. Sparvoli’s research focuses on the molecular mechanisms that regulate secretion, organelle trafficking, and host cell invasion in apicomplexan parasites. Her work investigates how parasite-specific regulatory complexes coordinate exocytosis, an essential process that enables Toxoplasma gondii to release invasion factors and establish infection within host cells.
In this talk, Dr. Sparvoli will present recent discoveries revealing how an Alveolata-specific small GTPase complex controls exocytosis in Toxoplasma. By uncovering the regulatory networks governing secretory organelle release, this research provides important insights into parasite invasion strategies and identifies potential molecular targets for therapeutic intervention.
