Speaker Announcement
We are pleased to announce Guangchun Bai, MD, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology and Microbial Disease at Albany Medical College, USA, as a featured speaker at the Global Virtual Streptococcus Research Symposium, taking place April 27–28, 2026 (Eastern Time, USA).
Dr. Bai’s presentation will highlight recent advances in understanding how cyclic di-AMP signaling interfaces with bacterial competence pathways in Streptococcus pneumoniae. His research explores the regulatory networks that coordinate nucleotide signaling, genetic transformation, and adaptation, providing new insights into pneumococcal physiology, virulence, and evolution.
Dr. Guangchun Bai is a physician-scientist whose research focuses on microbial genetics, host–pathogen interactions, and regulatory mechanisms in bacterial pathogens. His work at Albany Medical College integrates molecular microbiology with immunological approaches to better understand pneumococcal biology and disease.
Dates: April 27–28, 2026
Format: Virtual – Eastern Time (US)
