Speaker Announcement
We are pleased to announce Dr. Saugata Majumder, Researcher in the Department of Immunology and Microbial Disease at Albany Medical Center, USA, as a confirmed speaker at the Global Virtual Streptococcus Research Symposium, taking place April 27–28, 2026 (Eastern Time, USA).
Dr. Majumder’s presentation will highlight recent advances in pneumococcal vaccine strategies aimed at enhancing mucosal immunity. His work investigates how intranasal delivery of pneumococcal surface protein A (PspA) following systemic vaccination can boost lung-resident memory immune responses, providing improved protection against respiratory Streptococcus pneumoniae infection. These findings contribute to the development of next-generation vaccination approaches targeting mucosal immunity.
Dr. Saugata Majumder is an immunology researcher whose work focuses on host immune responses to bacterial pathogens and the development of innovative vaccination strategies. His research integrates mucosal immunology, vaccine biology, and host–pathogen interactions to advance protective immunity against pneumococcal disease.
