We are honored to welcome Dr. Maria E Francia, Head of the Laboratory of Apicomplexan Biology, Faculty of Medicine at the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo, as a featured speaker at the International Virtual Conference on Advances in Toxoplasmosis Research on April 20–21, 2026.
Dr. Francia is an internationally recognized leader in apicomplexan cell biology, whose research has significantly advanced our understanding of parasite division, cytoskeletal organization, and organelle inheritance. Her laboratory investigates the molecular machinery that governs cell cycle progression and daughter cell formation in Toxoplasma gondii, integrating advanced microscopy, genetics, and biochemical approaches to dissect the structural basis of parasite replication.
