Prof. Kaplan’s presentation will explore the role of STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) signaling in circulating blood mononuclear cells and its relevance in understanding the clinical progression of coronary artery atherosclerotic disease. The talk will highlight how inflammatory signaling biomarkers may contribute to patient stratification, disease monitoring, and future precision medicine approaches in cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Kaplan is an accomplished physician-scientist whose career spans pathology, immunology, vascular biology, and translational medicine. His work has focused on understanding inflammatory signaling pathways in human disease, with particular interest in immune regulation, chronic inflammation, and disease biomarkers. As part of the Immune Oncology Program, he has also contributed to interdisciplinary research connecting immune mechanisms with disease progression.

Dr. Kaplan’s current research examines the intersection of innate immune signaling, inflammation, and cardiovascular pathology. His work investigates how STING pathway activation in immune cells contributes to vascular inflammation and atherosclerotic disease progression. His research aims to identify clinically relevant biomarkers that can improve risk assessment, patient classification, and therapeutic decision-making in cardiovascular medicine.

Join us at C-BIO 2026 for insights into how immune signaling pathways are shaping new approaches in cardiovascular and translational biomedical research.

Stay tuned !
