Prof. Wang is a distinguished Professor in the College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering at Northwest A&F University, China, and is internationally recognized for his pioneering contributions to food engineering, postharvest technology, and advanced thermal processing systems. Throughout his academic career, he has made significant contributions to the application of engineering principles in improving food safety, quality, and processing efficiency.
His major research areas include thermal death kinetics of microorganisms, thermal and dielectric properties of food and biological materials, and the development of radio frequency heating technologies for pasteurization, disinfestation, drying, and value-added food processing applications. His research has played an important role in advancing efficient, sustainable, and industrially scalable food processing technologies.
Prof. Wang’s current research interests focus on emerging thermal technologies, intelligent process optimization, dielectric characterization of agricultural products, and the integration of advanced electromagnetic heating systems for safer and higher-quality food production. His work also explores innovative approaches to reducing processing time, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing microbial safety in food systems.
In recognition of his scientific excellence, he is a Fellow of the International Research Association for Drying Science and Technology. He also actively contributes to the global scientific community through editorial leadership, serving as Editor of Innovative Food Science and Emerging Technologies, IJABE, and the Journal of the ASABE, and as an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Food Engineering and Biosystems Engineering.
