Dr. George is Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Food Science and Agricultural Chemistry at McGill University, Canada, where he also serves as the Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Nanotechnology for Food and Agriculture. He is recognized for his pioneering contributions at the intersection of nanotechnology, food science, agriculture, and environmental safety.
His current research focuses on understanding how the physicochemical properties of nanomaterials influence their biological interactions, safety profiles, and functional performance. His work aims to establish the relationship between nanomaterial design and their hazardous as well as beneficial biological outcomes, enabling the development of safe, sustainable, and application-driven nanotechnologies for food and agriculture.
A major focus of his research includes nano-enabled solutions for food safety, pathogen detection, precision agriculture, controlled delivery systems, environmental remediation, and sustainable crop production. His research also addresses critical global challenges related to food security, environmental sustainability, and responsible innovation in emerging technologies.
