We are pleased to welcome Dr. Leonora Balaj, PhD as a featured speaker at the Virtual Liquid Biopsy Symposium.
Dr. Balaj is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and a leading researcher in neuro-oncology and extracellular vesicle biology.
Dr. Balaj’s research focuses on understanding how brain tumors communicate with their environment through extracellular vesicles and other circulating biomarkers. Her work explores how tumor-derived signals in blood and other biofluids can be leveraged for non-invasive detection, monitoring, and molecular characterization of brain tumors. By integrating liquid biopsy approaches with advanced molecular and functional analyses, her research aims to overcome the challenges of accessing brain tumor tissue and enable more precise, real-time insights into tumor evolution and therapy response.
In this session, Dr. Balaj will discuss how liquid biopsy technologies are unlocking new ways to decode tumor-derived signals in the bloodstream.
