🔴 Day 1 Live Update

An insightful presentation by Dr. Esther Julián on “Exploring Structural Drivers of Immune Modulation in Mycobacteria-Based Immunotherapy.”

Dr. Julián is affiliated with the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where her research has focused on mycobacteria, immunomodulation and the development of mycobacteria-based approaches for cancer immunotherapy. She has been associated with the Mycobacteria Research Laboratory within the Department of Genetics and Microbiology at UAB.

Her research has explored how mycobacteria and their components can influence immune responses. Work involving Mycobacterium brumae, for example, has investigated its immunomodulatory and antitumour properties, including its ability to stimulate immune responses against bladder cancer cells.

Dr. Julián has also contributed to research examining mycobacteria-based vaccines and their potential applications in immunotherapy. These studies have considered how mycobacterial components can interact with the immune system and how these properties may be used in therapeutic strategies.

Her presentation brings attention to the relationship between mycobacterial structure, immune modulation and therapeutic applications, adding an important perspective to the scientific discussions on immunity and mycobacteria at Frontiers in TB & Mycobacteriology 2026.

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
