Speaker Announcement
We are pleased to announce Caroline Weight, PhD, Lecturer in Respiratory Infection and Immunity, Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences at Lancaster University, United Kingdom, as a confirmed speaker at the Global Virtual Streptococcus Research Symposium, taking place April 27–28, 2026 (Eastern Time, USA).
Dr. Weight’s presentation will highlight current research on how respiratory epithelial cells detect and respond to Streptococcus pneumoniae infection. Her work examines epithelial-driven innate immune signaling, barrier function, and early host defense mechanisms that shape infection outcomes and influence disease progression in the respiratory tract.
Dr. Caroline Weight is a researcher in respiratory infection and immunity, with expertise in host–pathogen interactions at mucosal surfaces. Her work at Lancaster University focuses on epithelial biology, innate immune responses, and the mechanisms underlying susceptibility and protection in respiratory infections.
Dates: April 27–28, 2026
Format: Virtual – Eastern Time (US)
This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
