We are delighted to announce that Dr. Katerina Valentova, Senior Scientist and Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Biotransformation at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic, will serve as a Conference Chair and deliver a keynote talk at SustainNatural – 2026 – Safe and Sustainable Natural Products and Climate-Resilient Innovations Conference, taking place from November 23–25, 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Her keynote presentation, titled “Sustainable Production of Flavonoid Metabolites using Microbial Enzyme,” will explore innovative biotechnological approaches for the sustainable production of flavonoid metabolites through microbial enzymatic processes. The talk will highlight how microbial biotransformation can enhance the availability, functionality, and industrial applicability of valuable plant-derived compounds while supporting environmentally responsible production systems.
Dr. Valentova’s current research focuses on natural bioactive compounds, flavonoid metabolism, microbial biotransformation, nutraceutical development, and the health-promoting properties of plant-derived metabolites. Her work integrates microbiology, biochemistry, and natural product science to develop sustainable solutions for food, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology applications.
Dr. Katerina Valentova is an internationally recognized scientist with extensive expertise in natural products, metabolism, and biotransformation research. As Senior Scientist and Deputy Head of the Laboratory of Biotransformation at the Czech Academy of Sciences, she has contributed significantly to advancing the understanding of bioactive compounds and their biological effects through innovative multidisciplinary research.
