Dr. Borchmann is a Principal Investigator at the University of Cologne and Founder & Managing Director of Liqomics (Germany). As a physician-scientist and entrepreneur, he works at the intersection of clinical oncology, translational research, and diagnostics, focused on turning liquid biopsy innovation into real-world patient benefit.
Dr. Borchmann’s work bridges academic research and industry, with a strong emphasis on developing, validating, and implementing liquid biopsy tests in clinical practice. Through his roles in academia and at Liqomics, he is deeply involved in translating cutting-edge molecular technologies into scalable, regulatory-ready solutions for cancer care.
His presentation will explore the practical journey of moving liquid biopsy from the lab to the clinic across Europe. Dr. Sven Borchmann will discuss key challenges and opportunities, including clinical validation, regulatory pathways, reimbursement, and healthcare system integration, offering a uniquely European view on how liquid biopsy can reach patients faster and more effectively.
