Keynote Speaker Announcement

We are honored to announce Francis J. Castellino, PhD, Kleiderer-Pezold Professor of Biochemistry and Director of the WM Keck Center for Transgene Research, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, College of Science, University of Notre Dame, as a Keynote Speaker at the Global Virtual Streptococcus Research Symposium, to be held online on April 27–28, 2026.

Prof. Castellino’s keynote will highlight cutting-edge research into the molecular mechanisms that govern interactions between Group A Streptococcus and the host during infection. Emphasis will be placed on host–pathogen signaling pathways, bacterial virulence strategies, and host responses that collectively shape disease progression and outcomes. These insights are central to identifying new therapeutic and preventive strategies.

Dr. Francis Castellino is an internationally recognized leader in biochemistry and infectious disease research. His work has made seminal contributions to understanding molecular mechanisms of host–pathogen interactions, coagulation and fibrinolytic systems, and their roles in bacterial pathogenesis. As Director of the WM Keck Center for Transgene Research, he has also advanced innovative experimental approaches that bridge basic science and translational research.
