We are pleased to welcome Dr. Zahady Velásquez, researcher at Justus Liebig University Giessen, as a featured speaker at the International Virtual Conference on Advances in Toxoplasmosis Research.
Dr. Velásquez’s research focuses on the cellular and molecular consequences of Toxoplasma gondii infection on host cells, with particular interest in genome stability, DNA damage responses, and reproductive health. His work investigates how parasite-driven cellular stress and manipulation of host pathways affect genome integrity and alter spermatozoa structure, with potential implications for fertility and transgenerational health.
In this talk, Dr. Velásquez will present recent findings revealing how Toxoplasma infection compromises host genome stability and impacts sperm cell architecture, offering new perspectives on parasite-induced pathology beyond classical infection outcomes.
