We are pleased to welcome Prof. Maritza Jaramillo, researcher at INRS (Laval, Canada), as a featured speaker at the International Virtual Conference on Advances in Toxoplasmosis Research.
Prof. Jaramillo is an established investigator in immunoparasitology whose research focuses on host–pathogen interactions at the maternal–fetal interface. In this talk, she will explore how Toxoplasma gondii disrupts FOXO-dependent transcriptional programs in trophoblasts, altering immune regulation, cellular stress responses, metabolic homeostasis, and placental barrier integrity. The presentation will highlight how transcriptional dysregulation contributes to placental vulnerability and increased risk of vertical transmission, providing new insights into the molecular basis of congenital toxoplasmosis.
Join the meeting to learn how FOXO signaling reshapes placental responses during infection and what this means for fetal protection strategies.
