Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ronan Carroll, Professor and Graduate Chair in the College of Arts and Sciences, Ohio University (OH, USA), as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.
Prof. Carroll will present current research uncovering the role of the adenosine deaminase TadA in Staphylococcus aureus physiology and pathogenesis. His talk will highlight how RNA editing and nucleotide metabolism influence bacterial stress responses, virulence, and adaptation within the host, offering new perspectives on regulatory mechanisms that could be exploited for antimicrobial intervention.
Dr. Carroll’s laboratory focuses on transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation in S. aureus, with particular emphasis on RNA-based control mechanisms that govern metabolism, stress tolerance, and virulence. By integrating genetics, molecular biology, and infection models, his group is advancing fundamental understanding of bacterial gene regulation and identifying novel regulatory nodes relevant to antimicrobial development.
