Session II, chaired by Dr. David Gurarie (Case Western Reserve University, USA), featured an insightful presentation by Dr. Parisa Kalantari (Penn State University, PA) on “NLRP3 and AIM2 Inflammasomes Exacerbate the Pathogenic Th17 Cell Response to Eggs of Schistosoma mansoni”.
The presentation explored the role of inflammasome pathways in shaping immune responses during schistosomiasis, highlighting how NLRP3 and AIM2 contribute to pathogenic Th17 cell activity in response to parasite eggs. These findings provide important insights into the immunological mechanisms underlying disease pathology.
