Presentation: Liquid Biopsy-Based Detection of Gene Fusions: Expanding the Horizons of Molecular Diagnostics

Gene fusions are among the most important genomic alterations driving many cancers, yet they often remain challenging to detect using conventional tissue-based approaches. In this session, Dr. Frenkel-Morgenstern is demonstrating how liquid biopsy, combined with advanced computational genomics and next-generation sequencing, is opening new avenues for identifying these clinically significant alterations.

Drawing on her pioneering research at the intersection of synthetic biology, computational genomics, and precision oncology, Dr. Frenkel-Morgenstern highlights innovative approaches that improve the sensitivity, specificity, and clinical utility of gene fusion detection using minimally invasive blood-based testing.

The presentation also explores how integrating computational models with liquid biopsy technologies can enhance molecular diagnostics, support targeted therapy selection, and enable more personalized treatment strategies for cancer patients.

This engaging session showcases the growing role of liquid biopsy in advancing precision oncology and demonstrates how cutting-edge genomic technologies are shaping the future of cancer diagnosis and personalized medicine.

We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Milana Frenkel-Morgenstern for sharing her expertise and to our global audience for joining us in today’s scientific discussions.
