Dr. M. Brittany Johnson

Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections

February 23–24, 2026

We are delighted to welcome Dr. M. Brittany Johnson, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Klein College of Science, University of North Carolina at Charlotte (NC, USA), as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.

Dr. Johnson will present cutting-edge research revealing how cytosolic nucleic acid sensors in bone cells detect Staphylococcus aureus and trigger protective immune responses during osteomyelitis. Her talk will highlight novel mechanisms of bone–immune communication and innate sensing pathways that shape infection outcomes, offering promising insights for therapeutic strategies against bone infections.

Dr. Johnson’s research focuses on host–pathogen interactions at the bone–immune interface, with particular emphasis on innate immune sensing, osteoimmunology, and bacterial infection of skeletal tissue. By combining molecular biology, immunology, and infection models, her work is uncovering how bone cells actively participate in immune defense and identifying new targets to combat S. aureus–driven osteomyelitis.

We look forward to Dr. Johnson’s contribution to an exciting and impactful scientific program.

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
