Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Lee Korshoj, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, College of Medicine, University of Nebraska Medical Center (USA), as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.
Dr. Korshoj will present innovative research using single-cell transcriptomics to reveal previously hidden heterogeneity in Staphylococcus aureus populations during infection. His talk will highlight how distinct bacterial subpopulations contribute to immune evasion, persistence, and treatment failure, offering a powerful new framework for understanding staphylococcal pathogenesis at single-cell resolution.
Dr. Korshoj’s research focuses on bacterial gene regulation, infection biology, and advanced genomic technologies. By integrating single-cell approaches with molecular microbiology and host–pathogen models, his work is uncovering how phenotypic diversity within bacterial populations drives virulence, immune escape, and antimicrobial tolerance, paving the way for next-generation strategies to combat S. aureus infections.
