Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Josh Parsons, Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center (NC, USA), as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.
Dr. Parsons will present cutting-edge insights into how S. aureus evolves and adapts within the human host during bloodstream infections. His talk will highlight genetic and phenotypic changes that drive persistence, immune evasion, and treatment failure, providing a deeper understanding of bacterial evolution in real-time infection and its implications for clinical management and therapeutic strategies.
Dr. Parsons’s research lies at the intersection of clinical medicine, microbial genomics, and host–pathogen interactions. By integrating longitudinal clinical isolates, genomics, and experimental models, his work is uncovering how S. aureus adapts during invasive infections and identifying evolutionary pathways that shape virulence and antibiotic response, with direct relevance to improving patient outcomes.
