We are pleased to announce that Dr. Celine Cougoule, PhD, CNRS Researcher in the “Immune Detection and Elimination of Pathogens” Team at the Institut de Pharmacologie et de Biologie Structurale (IPBS-Toulouse (CNRS-UT3)), Université de Toulouse, CNRS, Université Toulouse III–Paul Sabatier (France), will be a featured speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Frontiers in TB & Mycobacteriology.
Dr. Cougoule is an expert in host–pathogen interactions and human immunology, with a strong focus on developing advanced experimental models to study mycobacterial infections. Her current research combines cellular immunology, microbiology, and cutting-edge human-based model systems to better replicate the complexity of TB infection in humans.
In this presentation, Dr. Cougoule will highlight recent progress in the development of innovative human systems, such as advanced cell-based platforms and physiologically relevant infection models, to study mycobacterial pathogenesis and evaluate anti-TB therapies. She will discuss how these models improve our understanding of immune responses, host–pathogen dynamics, and drug efficacy, bridging the gap between traditional experimental systems and clinical reality. Her work offers transformative potential for accelerating drug discovery and improving translational relevance in TB research.
