Dr. Nemeth is a clinician-scientist with extensive experience in the management and translational research of tuberculosis and HIV co-infection. His current research focuses on unraveling the complex immunological and clinical interactions between Mycobacterium tuberculosis and HIV, including how co-infection alters disease progression, treatment response, and long-term outcomes.
In this presentation, Dr. Nemeth will share recent findings on the bidirectional impact of TB and HIV on host immunity, highlighting mechanisms that drive immune dysregulation, inflammation, and pathogen persistence during co-infection.
