We are pleased to feature Dr. Hong You, Senior Research Officer at QIMR Berghofer, Australia, as a distinguished speaker at the II Global Virtual Symposium on Schistosomiasis.

Dr. Hong You is a leading researcher advancing molecular approaches to combat schistosomiasis. Her work focuses on the identification and characterization of novel vaccine and drug targets against schistosome infections using cutting-edge gene functional technologies.
Her research leverages CRISPR-based systems (including CRISPR/Cas9 and CRISPR interference/activation), alongside transcriptomics, proteomics, and RNA interference, to better understand parasite biology and accelerate target discovery. In addition, she is at the forefront of developing next-generation point-of-care diagnostic tools, utilizing CRISPR-Cas12/13 platforms to enable rapid, sensitive detection of schistosomiasis and other helminth infections.
Through integrating molecular innovation with translational applications, Dr. You’s work is contributing to more effective strategies for disease control, diagnosis, and ultimately elimination.
