We are honored to announce that Prof. ILKAY ERDOGAN ORHAN, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Lokman Hekim Universitesi, will deliver a keynote lecture at the Safe and Sustainable Natural Products and Climate-Resilient Innovations Conference, taking place from November 23–25, 2026 (SustainNatural) in Prague, Czech Republic.
Her keynote, titled “Annual Phytochemical and Bioactivity Changes in Medicinal Plants: The Cases of 𝘖𝘳𝘪𝙜𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘮 L. Species and 𝘔𝘺𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘴 L,” will explore how seasonal and environmental variations influence the phytochemical composition and biological activities of medicinal plants. The talk will highlight important findings on species within the Origanum genus and Myrtus communis, providing valuable insights into their consistency, efficacy, and potential applications in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical development.
Prof. Orhan’s current research focuses on pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and natural product-based drug discovery, with particular emphasis on bioactivity-guided studies, standardization of herbal medicines, and the investigation of plant-derived compounds for therapeutic applications. Her work also examines how environmental and temporal factors affect the quality and effectiveness of medicinal plants.
