Shaping the Future of Malaria Research

Join us on June 29, 2026 for the 2026 Global Virtual Conference: “Shaping the Future of Malaria Research”, an international online event bringing together leading experts and emerging researchers advancing the fight against malaria.

We are honored to feature two distinguished keynote speakers whose research is transforming our understanding of malaria transmission and parasite biology:

George Christophides, PhD
Professor, Imperial College London
Keynote Presentation: Redesigning the Vector to Break the Malaria Transmission Cycle

A global leader in vector biology and mosquito genomics, Prof. Christophides will discuss innovative strategies to engineer mosquito populations and disrupt malaria transmission, highlighting how advances in vector research could accelerate malaria elimination efforts worldwide.

Wai-Hong Tham, PhD
Professor, WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research) & The Australian National University
Keynote Presentation: Cryo-EM of a Malaria Parasite Fertilization Complex

Prof. Tham will present cutting-edge structural biology research revealing the molecular architecture of a malaria parasite fertilization complex. These insights provide a deeper understanding of parasite development and may inform the next generation of transmission-blocking interventions and therapeutics.

Together, these keynote lectures showcase the breadth of innovation driving malaria research today – from reimagining the mosquito vector to visualizing parasite biology at near-atomic resolution.

The conference, chaired by Dr. Sanjay Desai (NIAID/The National Institutes of Health, USA), also features presentations from 18 emerging research leaders sharing the latest discoveries in malaria biology, immunity, therapeutics, transmission, and elimination.

June 29, 2026
Online | Eastern Time (USA)

Join researchers from around the world for a day of discovery, discussion, and scientific exchange.

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
