Speaker Announcement – Schistosoma 2026
We are pleased to feature Dr. Cecile Crosnier, MRC Career Development Award Fellow and researcher in the Department of Biology at the University of York, as a distinguished speaker at the II Global Virtual Symposium on Schistosomiasis.

Dr. Crosnier’s research focuses on molecular host–pathogen interactions, particularly how parasites engage with human cell surface receptors. She develops and applies high-throughput receptor screening platforms to systematically identify extracellular protein interactions that are critical for infection and immune evasion.
Her current work is uncovering previously uncharacterized receptor–ligand interactions between Schistosoma mansoni and human host cells, providing new insights into parasite invasion mechanisms and host immune modulation. This research has important implications for identifying novel vaccine candidates and therapeutic targets.
In this talk, Cecile will present cutting-edge findings from receptor-based discovery platforms and discuss how these approaches are advancing our understanding of schistosomiasis biology and informing next-generation intervention strategies.
