🔴 Day 1 Live Update

An insightful presentation by Dr. Henrich Gašparovič on “Heptaprenyl reductase HepR regulates complex stress adaptations of Mycobacterium abscessus.”

Dr. Gašparovič is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology (IPBS), CNRS, Toulouse, France. His research focuses on mycobacterial biochemistry, cell-envelope biosynthesis, antibiotic tolerance, and the mechanisms that allow mycobacteria to adapt to challenging conditions.

His presentation examines HepR and its role in the complex stress adaptations of Mycobacterium abscessus. This work contributes to understanding how this clinically relevant mycobacterial pathogen responds to environmental and antibiotic-related stresses. The presentation is part of Session II: Drug Resistance Mechanisms and Antibiotic Discovery (ECRs).

Dr. Gašparovič’s broader research through the MabADAPT project investigates mechanisms involved in persister formation and multi-stress tolerance in Mycobacterium abscessus, with the aim of improving understanding of bacterial adaptation and its implications for antimicrobial treatment.

The presentation adds an important early-career research perspective to the ongoing scientific discussions at Frontiers in TB & Mycobacteriology 2026, particularly in the areas of mycobacterial adaptation, antibiotic tolerance, and drug resistance.

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
