Speaker Announcement

We are pleased to announce Dr. Rebecca Flaherty (Hyatt), Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Biology Department at Aquinas College – Grand Rapids, USA, as a confirmed speaker at the Global Virtual Streptococcus Research Symposium, taking place April 27–28, 2026 (Eastern Time, USA).

Dr. Flaherty’s presentation will highlight current research on how Group B Streptococcus interacts with host macrophages to influence cell death pathways and inflammatory signaling. Her work investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate host immune responses, shedding light on how bacterial pathogens modulate inflammation and contribute to disease pathogenesis.

Dr. Rebecca Flaherty is a researcher in microbial pathogenesis and immunology, with a focus on host–pathogen interactions and innate immune responses to bacterial infections. Her work at Aquinas College explores the cellular and molecular basis of immune signaling during streptococcal infections.

Dates: April 27–28, 2026
Format: Virtual – Eastern Time (US)

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
