We are delighted to announce that Dr. Smriti Mehra, Professor at the Texas Biomedical Research Institute (San Antonio, TX, USA), will be a featured speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Frontiers in TB & Mycobacteriology.

Prof. Mehra is an internationally recognized leader in tuberculosis immunology, with extensive expertise in host–pathogen interactions and translational TB research. Her work leverages advanced nonhuman primate models, immunological profiling, and systems biology approaches to uncover mechanisms that drive TB disease progression, immune regulation, and treatment outcomes.

In this presentation, Dr. Mehra will explore how indoleamine dioxygenase (IDO) pathways shape immune responses during M. tuberculosis infection and contribute to variability in disease outcomes. She will discuss how host immune diversity and pathogen heterogeneity intersect to influence TB pathogenesis, persistence, and response to therapy. Highlighting recent findings from her laboratory, the talk will emphasize the potential of IDO as a biomarker and therapeutic target, offering new directions for host-directed therapies and precision approaches to TB management.

Join global researchers, clinicians, and innovators as we explore cutting-edge insights shaping the future of TB immunology and therapeutic development.

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
