Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections
We are excited to welcome Dr. Jeffrey L Bose, Associate Professor of Microbiology, Molecular Genetics and Immunology at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KS, USA), as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.
Dr. Bose will present innovative research revealing how fatty acids play multifaceted roles in Staphylococcus aureus biology far beyond their traditional function as membrane components. His talk will explore how fatty acid metabolism and sensing influence virulence, stress responses, antibiotic susceptibility, and host interactions, offering new perspectives on metabolic regulation and potential antimicrobial targets.
Dr. Bose’s laboratory investigates the metabolic and regulatory networks that enable S. aureus to adapt to diverse host environments. By combining genetics, biochemistry, and infection models, his team uncovers how lipid utilization and metabolic flexibility drive pathogenesis and persistence. This work is advancing our understanding of bacterial physiology and identifying vulnerabilities that may be exploited for next-generation anti-staphylococcal therapies.
