Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Andrew Herr, Professor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in the Division of Immunobiology and Division of Infectious Diseases, as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.
Dr. Herr will present cutting-edge insights into how Staphylococcus aureus interacts with and adheres to the human skin surface. His talk will explore the structural and biochemical determinants of adhesion, shedding light on the molecular forces that enable colonization, persistence, and infection. These mechanisms are central to understanding S. aureus skin ecology and developing new strategies to prevent transmission and disease.
Prof. Herr’s research focuses on structural immunology, host–pathogen interactions, and the molecular basis of bacterial virulence. His team employs advanced biophysical, structural, and biochemical approaches to dissect how S. aureus surface proteins bind host tissues and evade immune responses. Their work is advancing foundational knowledge that informs the development of vaccines, therapeutics, and preventive strategies targeting staphylococcal colonization and infection.
We are honored to feature Prof. Herr and look forward to the impactful science he will share with the global research community.
