We are delighted to announce that Dr. Vladimir Kren, Professor, Senior Research Fellow, and Founder of the Laboratory of Biotransformation at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic, will be speaking at SustainNatural – 2026 – Safe and Sustainable Natural Products and Climate-Resilient Innovations Conference, taking place from November 23–25, 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Prof. Kren’s talk will highlight innovative enzyme engineering approaches for the sustainable synthesis of glycosides. The talk will explore how fungal rutinosidases can be tailored to enable efficient, green biocatalytic processes, opening new opportunities for the production of high-value natural compounds with applications in pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and biotechnology.

Prof. Kren’s current research focuses on glycoscience, enzyme engineering, microbial biotransformation, glycobiotechnology, and the development of biocatalytic methods for the synthesis and modification of bioactive natural products. His pioneering work has significantly advanced the application of enzymes in sustainable chemistry and industrial biotechnology.

Dr. Vladimir Kren is an renowned scientist and one of the pioneers in biotransformation and glycobiotechnology. As the founder of the Laboratory of Biotransformation at the Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, he has led groundbreaking research on enzymatic synthesis, carbohydrate-active enzymes, and natural product modification, making lasting contributions to sustainable biotechnology and green chemistry.

Join us in Prague this November to discover how enzyme engineering is transforming sustainable glycoside synthesis and driving the next generation of natural product innovation.
