We are pleased to announce that Prof. Wai-Hong Tham will be a Keynote Speaker at the 2026 Global Virtual Conference on Malaria Research, taking place online on June 29, 2026.
Dr. Tham is a Professor at WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research) and The Australian National University (ANU) and is internationally recognized for her contributions to infectious disease research and structural biology.
Her work centers on unraveling the molecular and structural basis of host–pathogen interactions, particularly how malaria parasites invade and survive within human cells. Through advanced structural biology approaches, her research provides critical insights into parasite biology and identifies novel therapeutic targets.
Prof. Tham is also at the forefront of developing next-generation therapies, including innovative nanobody-based technologies, with applications spanning both malaria and COVID-19. Her interdisciplinary research bridges fundamental science and translational medicine, accelerating the development of targeted interventions against infectious diseases.
