March 2–3, 2026 | Online

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Howard Takiff, from the Laboratorio de Genética Molecular, Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC), Caracas, Venezuela, will be a featured speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Frontiers in TB & Mycobacteriology.

Dr. Takiff is an internationally respected scientist in tuberculosis molecular genetics and antimicrobial resistance, with decades of experience investigating the genetic and physiological mechanisms that drive mycobacterial survival, virulence, and drug resistance. His research has significantly advanced our understanding of Mycobacterium tuberculosis biology, particularly the genetic determinants that influence pathogenicity and adaptation within host environments.

In this presentation, Dr. Takiff will share recent findings on the role of ESX-3 and PE-PGRS gene families in regulating iron acquisition and intracellular survival of mycobacteria. He will discuss how these genetic systems enhance mycobacterial fitness within macrophages, revealing critical links between metal homeostasis, virulence, and host–pathogen interactions. Highlighting ongoing research from his laboratory, the talk will explore how insights into ESX-3 and PE-PGRS pathways can inform new strategies for targeting mycobacterial survival mechanisms and developing innovative therapeutic approaches against TB.

Join global researchers and clinicians as we explore cutting-edge discoveries shaping the future of TB molecular biology and pathogenesis.

This conference is organized by Impact Research Communications (IRC)
