Speaker Announcement
We are pleased to announce Dr. H. Alexandra Shaw, Senior Scientist, Group A Streptococcus, Bacteriology Division at the National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency), United Kingdom, as a confirmed speaker at the Global Virtual Streptococcus Research Symposium, taking place April 27–28, 2026 (Eastern Time, USA).
Dr. Shaw’s presentation will address the development and application of standardized reference sera for Group Streptococcus research. Her work focuses on assay harmonization, immunological benchmarking, and enabling comparability across studies, which are critical for advancing vaccine development, serological analyses, and global research coordination.
Dr. Alexandra Shaw is a scientist specializing in Group A streptococcal biology and immunological standardization. At NIBSC, her research supports the development of biological reference materials and standards that underpin vaccine evaluation, diagnostic development, and regulatory science in infectious diseases.
