We are pleased to welcome Albert Tell i Puig, researcher in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Geneva, as a featured speaker at the International Virtual Conference on Advances in Toxoplasmosis Research.
Albert Tell I Puig’s research focuses on the structural and functional biology of the apical complex in apicomplexan parasites, a highly specialized organellar system critical for host cell invasion. His work combines advanced imaging, molecular genetics, and cell biology approaches to dissect how apical structures are assembled, regulated, and deployed during infection.
In this talk, he will present new insights into how the apical complex coordinates secretion, motility, and host cell entry in Toxoplasma gondii. By uncovering the molecular architecture and dynamics of this essential invasion machinery, his research sheds light on fundamental mechanisms of parasite infectivity and identifies potential targets for therapeutic intervention.
