Speaker Announcement | 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections
We are pleased to welcome Dr. Will Beavers, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathobiological Sciences, LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Louisiana State University (LA, USA), as an invited speaker at the 2nd International Virtual Conference on Staphylococci and Staphylococcal Infections.
Dr. Beavers will present exciting new insights into how the electron transport chain influences Staphylococcus aureus sensitivity to polyunsaturated fatty acids. His talk will highlight the interplay between bacterial metabolism and membrane biology, revealing how respiratory pathways shape susceptibility to host-derived antimicrobial lipids and opening new avenues for targeting metabolic vulnerabilities in S. aureus.
Dr. Beavers’s research focuses on bacterial physiology and metabolism, with particular emphasis on how respiratory pathways, redox biology, and lipid interactions regulate S. aureus survival and virulence. By integrating genetics, biochemistry, and infection models, his work is advancing our understanding of metabolic control in bacterial pathogenesis and identifying potential targets for novel antimicrobial strategies.
